Bisquick Recipes; Honey Nut Oven Fried Chicken
Ingredients
1 whole chicken deep-fat fryer, cut into 10 parts (cut the breasts in half crosswise)
Seasoned salt to taste
Cayenne pepper (optional), to taste
2 1/2 buttermilk cups
2 Cups Original Bisquick ™ Mix
4 up to 5 cups Honey Nut Clusters® flakes, chopped up to 2 1/2 cups
2 whipped eggs

Steps
- Preheat the oven to 400 ° F. Sprinkle chicken on both sides with seasoned salt and cayenne pepper. Place the chicken in a large, resealable plastic bag in a large bowl. Pour 2 cups of buttermilk onto the chicken. Bag for printing; refrigerate 1 hour or night.
- Line a 13x9-inch shallow baking sheet with foil. Place the cooling pad in the pan; generously spray cooling pad with non-stick sprinkler
- In an average shallow bowl, mix the eggs with the remaining buttermilk; whisk until smooth. Place the Bisquick mixture in a small shallow bowl. Place the cereal in another small, shallow bowl.
- Remove pieces of chicken from one of the buttermilk; dredge in a Bisquick mixture, then wash the eggs, then flakes, covering the chicken slices completely.
- Lay the chicken pieces with the bone sides down on the stand. Spray on top of chicken with cooking spray.
- Bake without a lid on the middle grill of the oven for about 50 minutes or until the juices become clear.
